This week, one of my Body Back goddesses brought up a question that I had been pondering: With only two weeks left in our program, what are we going do to keep making progress with our workouts? We feel the pressure now that we are down to only two more weeks together. The work we have been doing in Body Back is challenging but rewarding. I want to keep up with the momentum. I WANT a challenge! I NEED a plan! FIT4MOM to the rescue!
Body Back is only one part of the FIT4MOM family. Stroller Strides, a total body workout for mom WITH baby, is offered in different locations almost every day of the week. I began going to Stroller Strides classes when my son was eight weeks old. What could be more fun than a challenging workout with some nursery rhymes and a round of “The Itsy Bitsy Spider”? Organized play groups follow most Stroller Strides classes with a theme that changes weekly. Sometimes, a special guest speaker will visit the following class presenting on topics from family nutrition to child sleep!
Stroller Barre helps bring out my inner ballerina. Just kidding! This class combines bursts of cardio with Pilates moves and barre movements {think tiny isolated movements that leave your Body burning – in a good way, of course!}. I love changing up my routine with Stroller Barre because it truly is a different workout.
Another program run by FIT4MOM is their running program which {when offered} helps mamas train for a 5K with weekly group runs. I have not yet joined the running program, but I am looking forward to trying it in the spring.
FIT4MOM is about more than just fitness – it’s a whole mother-child experience. Shanae and her team of instructors care about helping to build relationships between moms. In addition to their organized playgroups and special guest speakers, FIT4MOM is active on MeetUp.Com where you can find out about all of their events, including special presentations, book clubs, and Mom’s Night Out events. After all, FIT4MOM is helping us to be fit for motherhood!
