How Room for Paws Pet Resort Started
This year, we’re happily celebrating our third year of being in business—but our journey started long before that! Over ten years ago, we realized there wasn’t a place we could send our dogs with 100% comfort and certainty. As a result, we found ourselves avoiding any time away from home. Opening Room for Paws was always something we planned on, but it quickly became a reality when we had to leave our home for several months so it could be repaired from winter storm damage. From then on, we knew we owed it to ourselves, our pups, and pups across the tri-state area to start our journey. 
Our Approach
We believe dogs deserve more than just a place to stay — they deserve comfortable lodging, fun and enriching activities, and lots of love and attention! In addition to having extensive experience, training, and certifications, we are lifelong, avid dog lovers and hands-on owners. We have the smallest playgroups in Fairfield County, offer specialized programs and add-ons, and are constantly updated on best practices and initiatives that we can incorporate into our facility for our best furry friends.
When your pup stays with us, you can rest assured that their safety, comfort, and fun are paramount. Every one of our furry guests is treated like a member of our own family — and we, admittedly, spoil our pups! Whether adding organic chicken as a food topper or reading them a bedtime story, we go above and beyond for each of our guests. 
How We Participate in Our Community
Our family has lived in Fairfield County for close to thirty years. We’ve raised two children and five dogs here, and we wouldn’t have it any other way!
We’re active in the community, members of local groups and societies, and are dedicated to making a positive impact through our philanthropic efforts. We truly love our community and are overjoyed to care for each of our guests.
Since the beginning, we wanted to create a space in our community where people would be confident and comfortable leaving their fur babies with us. Our love for our community shows in everything we do, whether participating in local fundraisers and adoption events, prioritizing shopping locally, supporting fellow small businesses, or ensuring our facility and services are the best they can be. 
Our Facility and Services
Every part of our 15,000 sq. foot facility was crafted with your pups’ well-being in mind. To add an extra personal touch, every room in our facility is named after one of our own pups, and our reception gallery is adorned with fine-art pet portraits. Each portrait is lovingly painted by our talented owner, Carmela, whose work has been exhibited at numerous local art shows and is internationally collected!
