Create a Play-Dough Bar

Creating a play-dough bar. Play-dough is one of those timelessly classic concoctions that allows for endless possibilities. Almost everyone knows the smell (or taste) when you pop open a nice fresh can of play-dough. What is it about dough? What makes it so magical for kids to explore?

Creating a Play-Dough Bar is pure childhood magic fueled by imagination. It is loaded with all kinds of goodies and mixins. The trays are filled with tiny treasures like feathers, pom-poms, and sparkly stockpiles of sequins and glitter! Pipe cleaners can transform a simple ball of dough into a Martian or monster, and cookie cutters let kids get hands-on with shapes, numbers, and letters.

The main point of play-dough is “play.” When kids are handed a ball of dough, it’s a great open-ended activity! All the motions—the smoothing, rolling, patting, and building—are quite a workout for little hands.

Play-dough is the perfect activity for a preschool birthday party, play date, or just for fun. You can whip up a fresh batch of play-dough in under ten minutes. And that’s just the beginning. There are many fun possibilities to take your dough to the next level – we love stirring in seasonal scents, colors, and mixins.

You can easily customize play-dough to match your child’s favorite color, superhero, princess, or cartoon character. Add a few drops of purple food coloring and some glitter, and you have “Frozen Dough,” add a few shakes of that “pumpkin pie seasoning that has been sitting in your pantry for a while,” and you have “Pumpkin Pie Dough.”

In our opinion, any day can (and should) be a reason to celebrate, and a play-dough bar is the perfect way to do it!

Hi, we're Karen & Ally. Karen is the proud mama of Lucas. Ally is raising a feisty little lady named Charlotte, aka Charley, aka Chuck. Karen and Ally have a combined total of over 20 years of working in Education. We love to play with {and occasionally without}our kids. We love to see our children messy, giggling, and covered in fun {except for glitter, that's where we draw the line}. We consider themselves LuCky to be mothers. And that's how we came up with our blog, LuCk (little bit Lucas, little bit Chuck). 3 Things About Ally & Karen If my life were a TV show, it would be titled : Ally: Make n' Mingle Karen: Eat & Run Or, 2 Moms That MAke More of A Mess Than Their 2 Kids Other blogs regularly followed: Ally: Scary Mommy, OhJoy, & Not Martha Karen: OmNom Favorite thing to do in your spare {ha!} time: Ally: Debate going to the gym until it's too late and I don't have the time to go to the gym, train for my next 5K, start a project I found on Pinterest that I'll never have time to finish. Karen: Think of a new way to include peanut butter into my diet, run, repeat. Together we take momcations to Target!
