mobile mechanic 2Love your car? Do you hate setting up oil changes and other small jobs for it? Me too! Like most moms, trying to set up an oil change is almost as bad as trying to get to my dentist or optometrist, yet equally as important. That’s why I jumped at the chance to receive an oil change service with a tire rotation and a complete vehicle safety check from the Mobile Mechanic.

The owner, Jordan Ranney, is the answer to all our prayers. He is a dad of two young kids (ages 3 and 4) who has been in the mechanic business for over ten years. The idea for the Mobile Mechanic came to him about a year ago when he realized, as a parent of young children, how hard it can be to arrange car maintenance.

With his wife’s support, Jordan started his business. He is a professional who brings back the olden days of businesses; he actually talks to his customers, listens to their needs, and truly gets pleasure out of helping others. The best part is that he comes to you AND works weekends!!!car

When Jordan arrived at my house at 9:30 a.m. on a Saturday, it was a wonderful experience from the start. After a quick conversation to get to know me and the car he would be working on, I could continue doing things I needed to get done around the house while Jordan got to work.

My three-year-old car lover sat in the window watching the whole time; it was a double win! In about an hour, my car was completed, my laundry was drying, and my son got a quick lesson in mechanics. Don’t be fooled that this was a less-than-thorough job. Jordan did everything my drop-off mechanics do: topped off windshield wiper fluid, checked and filled tires, and changed the oil. He also told me he has rented out space for more intense jobs; there’s nothing Jordan can’t do!

What a pleasurable experience it was to work with the Mobile Mechanic! Why not give him a try and save yourself the hassle of leaving the house? Mobile Mechanic can be reached at 203-727-3707.

Maria Sette
Maria is a full-time mom, teacher, wife, daughter, and sister, who feels pulled in too many directions! Her older son Michael took over 24 hours to be born, and at six-months-old was diagnosed with allergies to dairy, eggs, nuts, soy, shrimp, and wheat…all after exclusively nursing because she was SO SURE that would help him be a healthy kid. Luckily at age 1, he began to outgrow some of his allergies. Fingers crossed the others will soon follow because that plus a husband who doesn’t eat any veggies and Maria always battling her weight makes for three meals to prepare every night. Luckily, Christopher, her younger son, is a cooperative eater! As someone who has always been committed to making positive change, Maria uses her privilege and position as an educator and mom to work toward a most anti-racisit, equitibile, and inclusive world. Recently, Maria has even started getting up at 5am to workout in her basement. (Thank you pandemic living!) She is addicted to reading chicklit on her Kindle app in the dark, most Trader Joe’s products, and watching TikToks.
