A summer playground for the wealthy, it is also a perfect family destination to enjoy all seasons. In the summer, it is rife with beaches, coastal seafood eateries, and mansions to tour. It is also a buzzing and idyllic holiday scene when the downtown streets light up in December.

Saturday Afternoon
Ready to start your day of touring? Burn off your meal and attempt to tire out the family on the Cliff Walk. This three-and-a-half-mile trail is a hike that Newport is known for. Saturday Evening
Grab a trendy farm-to-table dinner at Tallulah on Thames or some “freestyle Italian” cuisine at Giusto before grabbing a room at waterfront hotel 41 North, relative newcomer The Atwater, or the grand dame of hotels like Vanderbilt Auberge.
Sunday Morning
You can’t go wrong for breakfast at Franklin Spa, a greasy spoon and classic neighborhood diner. It’s also great for kids. Before leaving town, be sure to stop by the Roger Williams Park Zoo.
