Last month, Riley Volvo Cars Stamford generously lent us a Volvo XC90 to test drive for the weekend — let’s say Volvo now ranks at the top of my list for cars!
First, I want to give a shout-out to Jameson and Dan at Riley Volvo Cars Stamford, who were extremely responsive and helpful with everything related to the car. Dan was waiting for me at the dealership and had this stunning XC90 ready to go. I had test-driven the XC70 previously and was very excited to experience the larger SUV, which suits my needs better. After a quick demo, I was ready to take off!
With a third row and seating up to seven, the XC90 is not only beautiful outside but inside as well.
I drive quite a bit for work, plus we often spend summers at our summer home up in Maine, and I ALWAYS struggle with space to fit everything needed for our family. I could not believe the amount of space the XC90 housed compared to my standard SUV. I am new to a third row and loved how easily (and intuitively) I could fold the seats down depending on what we needed the space for.
As I put in my daughter’s car seat, I was pleased to learn that the seats can be adjusted back to make more space for getting in and out and recline back depending on your preference and needs. There is also so much storage for all our stuff! I regularly travel with multiple water bottles, snacks, toys, a bag of clothes, and necessities, along with my big purse and usually one of my pups. I could quickly organize everything so it was within reach when I needed it (toddlers, am I right?). This car is the ultimate mom-car without looking like a mom-car.
This car has the most dreamy interior.
I was taken aback by how beautifully designed the interior was. From the super soft, stitched leather to the sleek lines and design, the XC90 went all out on the luxurious bells and whistles.
The large, 9” touchscreen display allows you to intuitively control the functions of your Volvo – even with your gloves on! With this Volvo, you can access Apple Car Play, Google Assistant, Google Maps, and the Google Play store. I especially loved the three-setting heated seating and steering wheel, which kept my hands nice and warm on these cold winter days, and I would be remiss if I didn’t mention the absolutely stunning crystal-shifting gear!
What wins me over is how safe and easy it is to control and drive.
I like to consider myself a great driver, but let’s face it — moms are constantly multitasking, whether it be breaking up a sibling fight, getting Siri to play Ms. Rachel, or redirecting because of traffic. The XC90 has built-in safety features that made me feel extra safe taking my family out for the weekend. You can get hands-free help to get directions, enjoy entertainment, or text and call by just saying, “Hey, Google.”
Next time I’m in the market for a car, I’ll be heading to Volvo.
Riley Volvo Cars Stamford totally sold me on their customer service and the beautiful and luxurious design of the Volvo XC90. I was so sad when I had to say goodbye to this dream of a car, but I have a feeling it won’t be the last time we see each other!
