Moms’ Night Out Ideas in and Around Fairfield County

1

Moms together for a night out. Sometimes, we need a night out with our best girlfriends to fill our cup! Doing the same old scenes can be a bit boring, so here are some new ideas to take the guesswork out of your next moms’ day or night out. There is something for everyone, from those who are up for a last-minute get-together to the planners in the group. Grab your girls and check out some new spots in and around Fairfield County

1. See a Show

Fairfield County offers many places to see a show, from theaters and small venues to outdoor arenas and typical movie theaters. There is something for everyone. For a unique live theater experience, check out the Prospector Theater in Ridgefield – they even have a restaurant, bar, and cafe! If a traditional live experience is more your speed, check out Westport Playhouse or Hartford Healthcare Amphitheater. There is always a show to catch in Fairfield County, and if nothing catches your fancy, we are lucky enough to be an hour’s train ride or less into NYC, where you can see the latest hot Broadway show or concert!

2. Get Crafty or Learn a Skill

You could paint and sip at places such as Pinot’s Palette in Stamford, DIY wood signs or other home decors at Board and Brush in Monroe, or build a flower arrangement at Stems + Co in Norwalk. If a cooking class is what you are looking for, head to the Fig Cooking School in Milford or Vita Pasta Lab, which has events in many locations. There are also many options on Pinterest that can help guide you to create a DIY night at your home for a moms’ night in!

3. Host a Book Club Night

You can start your own or join an established group. Search for book ideas through programs like Reese’s Book Club, Read with Jenna, Oprah’s Book Club, or head to Goodreads, which has many book club lists! It’s always fun to get together and discuss a great book with some great drinks!

4. Get Active

Bowlmor Lanes in Norwalk has bowling, laser tag, an arcade, and food! You can also check out Pinstripes in Norwalk for bowling or bocce. RPM Raceway in Stamford has a new two-track to race go-carts. Or, if you want more of an outdoor adventure, head to the Adventure Park at the Discovery Museum in Bridgeport or find some hiking trails, such as at the Bartlett Arboretum in Stamford.

5. Dessert or App Night

Host a dessert night at home, where everyone brings their favorite treats for a tasting party. Head to a favorite bakery or bake your own. You could also host a virtual baking class in individual homes or all together for everyone to try making a new treat. I recently saw a trend where everyone made an appetizer board and brought it to a friend’s house; it looked like a lot of fun!

6. Adult Beverage Tastings

Check out your local winery, such as Jones Winery in Shelton or Aquila’s Nest in Newtown. Beer lovers should head to Stratford for Two Roads or hold the alcohol and try Athletic Brewing Co. If you are looking for a local beer fix in lower Fairfield County, Half Full Brewery in Stamford has you covered. If distilleries are more your thing, try out Sono 1420 in Norwalk. Want to keep it closer to home? Host a wine, beer, or liquor tasting at your home. Everyone can bring their favorites; maybe you will find something new to love.

7. Get Pampered

For a tailored experience, head to GlowBar in Westport for a short, customized facial or DryBar for a salon that only does blowouts while watching your favorite rom-coms. Both are perfect for a moms’ day of relaxation. You can also talk to your local salon or spa about scheduling group appointments in the studio to get out and make it a truly relaxing day. Local nail salons are always willing to take on groups if you call far enough in advance.

8. Check Out Events at Local Museums or Zoos

Many museums or zoos host adult events, such as Connecticut’s Beardsley Zoo in Bridgeport or Stamford Museum & Nature Center in Stamford. Fairfield County has many museums for various exhibits to meet everyone’s interests, such as The Glass House in New Canaan, the Bruce Museum in Greenwich, and MoCA in Westport. Other spaces to check out classes and events are Grace Farms in New Canaan, Wakeman Town Farm in Westport, and Weir Farm in Wilton

9. Game Night

Host a game night or trivia night at your house. Everyone can bring an appetizer, dessert, or wine to share, plus their favorite game, such as Left Right Center, Cards Against Humanity, or What Do You Meme.

What is your favorite moms’ night out activity?
