From as early as I can remember, I have loved to read. My mom often reminds me that a library or bookstore were my favorite places to go when I was little. There’s just something about books that I find magical. It’s such a privilege to get to read!
What better time to get cozy and escape into a book than during this long, cold winter? As a mom, it can be hard to find time to read, but it’s important to make time for yourself. Bonus points for reading in a space your kids can see you, and you can set an example for them.
Here are a few tips for cozy winter reading.
- Find a comfortable spot to read. Whether it’s your favorite armchair, the couch, or even your bed, make sure you have a cozy place to read where you can relax and enjoy your book.
- Set aside some time each day to read. Even if it’s just for 15 minutes, make reading a part of your daily routine.
- Choose a book that you’re interested in. There’s nothing worse than trying to read a book that you’re not enjoying. If you’re unsure what to read, ask your friends or family for recommendations or check out the bestseller lists. I often find my next read from Reese’s Book Club.
- Create the perfect atmosphere. Make a cup of tea or coffee and grab a cozy blanket.
- Silence your tech. Turn off your phone and other distractions to focus on your book.
- Enjoy the experience! Reading is a great way to relax and escape from the everyday stresses of life.
