What’s better than a girls’ getaway? A getaway that doesn’t require a plane or train. The J House Greenwich recently hosted me and a fellow contributor for an amazing staycation.
From the moment I arrived, the staff made everything so easy and luxurious. First, I was surprised that this was such a quick drive from my home in Shelton, and it was so convenient to many places around Greenwich and a hop, skip, and a jump to NYC. I parked in the valet and was greeted with a glass of Prosecco at check-in.
I made my way to my room, which was incredibly spacious and state-of-the-art. There was definitely fun in figuring out all the features of the room, including, of course, the famous Japanese Toto toilet (if you know, you know). Everything is automated, which adds to the relaxation of a getaway.
We snagged a reservation at Tony’s at the J House and had the best experience there for dinner. Also, how amazing is it to get dressed and walk down the hallway to your restaurant? Our server was knowledgeable, and we felt we were transported with the greenery and lights around our table. I shared the porterhouse for two and a nice bottle of red. Make sure to take a picture swinging on their iconic swing. I would love to come back and try their sushi dishes, and the brunch also looks excellent.
The next morning, we took advantage of all the amenities. The complimentary continental breakfast had everything we needed. With a bagel and coffee in hand, I headed to the gym. Yes, I am that person who works out on vacation. Their gym is open 24 hours a day and has something for everyone. I was able to get some strength training in before it was back to the reality of momming and working!
The best thing about The J House in Greenwich is that you don’t feel like you’re in Greenwich. You were transported to a posh hotel in a faraway city.
They do an amazing job of honing the details and making everything special. Keep J House in Greenwich in mind for your next girl’s weekend, family staycation, or romantic weekend.
I would love to come back and use their pool. Their heated pool is open through the fall, and their entire pool gives Palm Springs vibes and fun. It’s also important to walk around and admire all the art. Around (literally) every corner is artwork, and it’s like having a gallery inside the hotel.
