Time to live every day like it’s Taco Tuesday! And maybe a delicious margarita or some sangria to go along with it? This round-up is our favorite by far. It got us so excited to go out for a date night, moms’ night out, or family dinner! Here are the Fairfield County Mom contributors’ favorite taco, margarita, and sangria joints!
Geronmino Tequila Bar & Southwest Grill {Fairfield & New Haven}
The Geronimo’s margarita and spicy margarita are fan favorites! You have to start the table with some table-side guacamole, and their burritos are delicious and a huge portion! For something lighter, I highly recommend the cowgirl chop salad.
Bodega {Fairfield & Darien}
For drinks, the Rosarita and Spicy Rita are delicious and full of flavor. We recommend starting with Elotes (Mexican street corn) and Sweet Chili Duck Nachos. While all the tacos are delicious, the owner of FCM, Michelle, raves about the Baja Tacos paired with a spicy margarita!
Senior Salsa {Fairfield and Westport}
This spot is great for take-out (it’s a go-to for beach dinners)! They have a salsa and chip bar with a lot of fun options! One of our contributors orders there at least once a week for a family dinner that everyone enjoys.
Rio Bravo {Fairfield & Westport}
A great family-friendly restaurant. Their French Tacos, Gringo Tacos, Chicken Mango Quesadilla, and Veggie Fajitas are yummy! The chips and salsa are simple and delicious.
Malibu Taco {Fairfield}
A favorite for our Fairfield-based contributors, the taco menu has traditional and more funky options, like Nashville Hot Chicken! If tacos aren’t your thing (number one, are you okay?), their rice and salad bowls are delicious. The Malibu Passion Spritz is the perfect summer drink to accompany your food.
El Gallo Dorado {Monroe & Shelton}
This is one of the few places a refined “Texas taco snob” will go back to time and again. The al pastor tacos are a favorite, and the tortas are HUGE and delicious. We recommend the Milanesa. They also have a breakfast menu to satisfy those breakfast burrito cravings.
Don Memo {Westport}
This is a highly recommended spot for elevated Mexican food, including tacos. Their menu features authentic Mexican fare from travels to Oaxaca, Mexico, including drinks to pair with menu items. Brunch is available Friday and Saturday from 12 to 3; they are closed Sunday and Monday.
Latina Cantina {Fairfield}
Offering brunch, lunch, and dinner, the Sangrita Verde Shot is a featured drink to start off your meal. FCM contributor Gloria recommends the Lomo Saltado Tacos or Birria Tacos. Better yet, try them both for a fun ladies’ night out!
Bar Taco {Westport, Stamford, & Portchester}
It’s great for families during the day, as well as girls’ night out or date night once the sun sets! Delicious tacos include the Sesame Ribeye, Chili-lime Shrimp, and Seared Chorizo. The guacamole is a must-try, along with Esquites and Sweet Plantains! The Bartaco Margarita is the best. I get mine extra spicy!
Don Carmelo’s {Norwalk}
This is a Fairfield County Mom contributor’s recommendation for their margaritas. The Passion Fruit, Prickly Pear, Pomegranate, Blood Orange, and Pineapple Margaritas received rave reviews.
Barcelona {Stamford, Fairfield, & Norwalk}
A tapas and wine bar where you cannot go wrong with their Sangria!
Taco Daddy {Stamford}
Street Corn Waffle Fries and Birria Tacos? Yes, please! This cool Stamford spot has an extensive drink list to accompany its delicious food. If you’re going with a group, try a sharable cocktail like the Rum and Pineapple Forward: “U-up?”
Tequila Escape {Ridgefield & Stamford}
A recipient of an award for best cocktails and best girls’ night out, you can’t go wrong here. The Pork Pineapple Pastor Tacos and Shrimp Tacos are highly recommended! Margaritas, Mojitos, Sangria, and Caipirinha are all offered in to-go pitchers, making take-out a great option!
Rincon Taqueria {Norwalk}
Delicious and HUGE burritos, great salsa that packs a punch, and a good, strong margarita! Also, a fun and funky ambiance!
Tequila Mockingbird {New Canaan}
This is a fun restaurant with delicious drinks and authentic dishes. It’s a little on the pricey side, but it’s totally worth it! Ask for a Michelada with EXTRA Valentina for a spicy kick to an already delicious beverage.
Cactus Rose {Wilton}
Absolutely delicious food with high-quality, fresh ingredients! It’s a fun atmosphere with outdoor seating as well, and they have a variety of fantastic margaritas!
Puerto Vallarta {Danbury & Fairfield}
My personal favorite is their fresh guacamole made table-side with their Red Sangria—perfection! They have lots of gluten-free options, and their Instagram page has my mouth watering.
Tacomida Tacos and Tequila {Shelton}
A yummy taco joint with delicious drinks to pair with your meal! We recommend the Portobello Mushroom and Chicken Borracho Tacos.
