Who could use a girls’ trip right about now? Parenting is hard (and stressful!). I firmly believe in the motto “take the trip,” and as much as I love traveling with my husband and children, I live for well-deserved and needed girls’ trips with a side of extra self-care.
I take three or more girls overnights a year, and they are good for the soul. I’m sharing my top destinations that won’t break the bank and still provide the ultimate female bonding experience.
Wellness Weekend Ideas
Breathe in and breathe out at these fantastic wellness retreats located in beautiful resorts or hotels.
Get Active
If running is your passion, then I encourage you to grab a friend, sign up for a race, and book a night away! Whether you’re running a 5k, 10k, half, or marathon, running is always better with a friend for support. Add a plush hotel bed to flop on when you are done, plus a town full of new post-run food choices, and it’s time and money well spent. Here are races held annually in my preferred girls’ trip locations.
If you’re a Peloton Mom, you can visit Peloton Studios in New York City for a live class.
Wine Trail Weekend
There are great wineries everywhere in the Northeast. I love to pack snacks and sip wine with friends at one of the below nearby vineyards.
Connecticut Wine Trail
The Connecticut Wine Trail can serve as a quick day trip to a winery with friends or as an excuse for an overnight destination.
Some of my favorite trips centered around New London County, CT vineyards. Winery by day and a stay in Mystic, or pair it with a night at Foxwoods or Mohegan Sun casinos.
Hamptons and The North Fork
Cape May, New Jersey
Staycation Weekend Ideas
You don’t have to travel far for a trip. Fairfield and the surrounding counties are the perfect destinations for your next getaway. Take away a long commute, which means you have added time for fun!
Any Delamar location
Air BNB – There are a ton of enjoyable homes by reputable local hosts (I may or may not follow them all on Instagram).
Outdoorsy Adventures
Do you like sleeping outside but don’t feel like pitching a tent or making your own meals? Do you like hiking but also enjoy amenities? Check out one of these unique glamping spots or luxe cabins and cottages for the best of both worlds. It sounds like an ideal girls’ weekend to me!
