Fabulous Girls’ Trip Ideas That Won’t Break the Bank

women on a girls' trip.Who could use a girls’ trip right about now? Parenting is hard (and stressful!). I firmly believe in the motto “take the trip,” and as much as I love traveling with my husband and children, I live for well-deserved and needed girls’ trips with a side of extra self-care.

I take three or more girls overnights a year, and they are good for the soul. I’m sharing my top destinations that won’t break the bank and still provide the ultimate female bonding experience.

Get Active

If running is your passion, then I encourage you to grab a friend, sign up for a race, and book a night away! Whether you’re running a 5k, 10k, half, or marathon, running is always better with a friend for support. Add a plush hotel bed to flop on when you are done, plus a town full of new post-run food choices, and it’s time and money well spent. Here are races held annually in my preferred girls’ trip locations.

Saratoga Springs, NY

Mystic, CT

Cape Cod, MA

If you’re a Peloton Mom, you can visit Peloton Studios in New York City for a live class.

Wine Trail Weekend

There are great wineries everywhere in the Northeast. I love to pack snacks and sip wine with friends at one of the below nearby vineyards.

Connecticut Wine Trail

The Connecticut Wine Trail can serve as a quick day trip to a winery with friends or as an excuse for an overnight destination.

Some of my favorite trips centered around New London County, CT vineyards. Winery by day and a stay in Mystic, or pair it with a night at Foxwoods or Mohegan Sun casinos.

Hamptons and The North Fork

Wolffer Estate

Three Sisters

Bedell Cellars

Duckwalk

Cape May, New Jersey

Cape May Winery & Vineyards

Willow Creek Winery & Farm

Staycation Weekend Ideas

You don’t have to travel far for a trip. Fairfield and the surrounding counties are the perfect destinations for your next getaway. Take away a long commute, which means you have added time for fun!

The Study at Yale

Any Delamar location

Air BNB – There are a ton of enjoyable homes by reputable local hosts (I may or may not follow them all on Instagram).

Do you like sleeping outside but don’t feel like pitching a tent or making your own meals? Do you like hiking but also enjoy amenities? Check out one of these unique glamping spots or luxe cabins and cottages for the best of both worlds. It sounds like an ideal girls’ weekend to me!

Jamie is a mom to a daughter (2014) and boy/girl twins (2016). She was born and raised in Westchester County, NY and together with her husband (married in 2011), made Danbury, CT their hometown. Jamie is a real estate agent with Coldwell Banker Realty. In the present day, more than ever before, “home” is an essential and safe place in an ever-changing world. Helping clients achieve their homeownership goals, searching for the home that’s “just right,” or helping them move on from a home that no longer serves them drives Jamie in her real estate career. Home for Jamie is Northern Fairfield County, and she never gets tired of spending time in the community with her family, visiting her favorite parks, and exploring local shops and restaurants. Jamie can be found on the Peloton leaderboard at 6:30 every morning, which fuels her long days of work and momming. Morning workouts are as athletic as she gets, and her favorite thing is tucking her children in at night and catching up on whatever show she is streaming. As much as she loves staying in, she doesn’t pass up a night out with her childhood girlfriends or a date night with her hubby.
