When it comes to vehicles I drive my babies around in, safety and driving comfort have always been key for me. I have been driving various third-row SUVs for the last 15 years, and I can honestly say the Volvo XC 90 SUV is at the top of my list of the best cars I’ve ever driven. As someone who is only 5’3, I have felt as though cars were made for only taller people. Comfort has been challenging to find in a vehicle. Car manufacturers have been doing better in recent years, but as soon as I drove the Volvo XC90 SUV off the Riley Volvo Cars Stamford lot, I knew this car was different. My comfort level was immediately at its best. I tend to get anxious when driving new-to-me cars, and I did not have that with the XC90! I’m impressed.

Inside the Volvo XC90, it was a new life of driving.

As moms, we spend a staggering amount of time acting as chauffeurs. We must love our cars and maybe even enjoy our time in them. I had the Volvo XC90 for three days and drove many miles around Fairfield County, and not once did I feel the need to complain about all the driving.

The SUV comes with Google Maps as a standard feature, which greatly simplified my travels. The heads-up display and map right on my dashboard allowed me to keep my eyes on the road. Connecting my phone to the car was a breeze, and I listened to my own music with ease.

The weekend I test-drove the XC90, I had some autumn adventures. I had to load the back of the SUV up with all my goodies. When I put the third row all the way down and loaded the car up, I was shocked at how much extra space there was! I could have bought more.

The safety features in the Volvo XC90 put me at ease.

Plenty of times, we’ve arrived somewhere only for me to hear, “I forgot to buckle myself!” I loved seeing on my dashboard who had their seatbelts buckled or not. This concern began when my children were all out of car seats and booster seats and on their own to get themselves in the car and buckled. This feature allows them to be independent while also easing my mind.

The wide lens backup and 360-degree parking camera were welcome sights, making driving in and out of my garage simple. As a fan of using cruise control, I found the Volvo XC90 Pilot Assist to be a breeze to use. The adaptive cruise control helps maintain your speed and safety while on the highway. You can feel safe even when your children are at their highest distraction level. I had a wonderful autumn weekend driving around the Volvo XC90. It is a perfect car for moms who need a minivan but don’t want one!Riley Volvo Cars Stamford
