Like any good elder millennial, I will be introducing myself using classic song lyrics.
Please allow me to (re)introduce myself.
Hi, my name is.
It’s me. Hi, I’m the problem; it’s me.
Let’s go, girls.
Welcome to the jungle.
My name is Katie, and I am a 41-year-old bonus/step mom to Lucas (10) and Natalia (8). I am a lifelong Trumbull resident, with a few other locations in the mix. But who says you can’t go home? (I swear last song lyric).
My husband, Bryan, and I moved into my childhood home with my parents to join the generational living movement with four adults, two kids, two dogs, and one roof. I grew up going to Florida in the winters to visit my snowbird grandfather and our family on Anna Maria Island. AMI is one of my favorite places, rivaled by another Florida location. Walt Disney World. Yes, I embrace the title of Disney Adult.
I have been a speech-language pathologist for 19 years, and have spent the majority of my career working with elementary-aged children in public schools. I have recently been sucked into the Bravo universe, and I wish I could say I have regrets.
As I navigate life as a bonus, non-biological mom, I see that it is a population of women that many parenting outlets are not including in their conversations. Fairfield County Mom is holding space for the women who aren’t always sure where they fit in the parenting world.
I am so excited to join this team and couldn’t be more grateful for this opportunity.
