Mom Moments of the Year

A daughter hugging her mom from behind.Life with young children is never easy, but it’s definitely laughable. Here are my top 10 relatable (or just embarrassing) Mom Moments of the year.

10. Hiding in the bathroom to eat a chocolate bar in peace. It may or may not be a weekly ritual.

9. Misplacing my coffee so many times that eventually I surrender to the caffeine migraine.

8. Completely forgetting all the spirit days at school and sending my kid unprepared. Luckily, she’s a gem and was totally fine winging it!

7. Rotating through the same three hoodies every weekend until it’s finally warm again.

6. Making big plans with friends only to “adjust accordingly.” A wine night in with games and laughs is just as good as any moms’ night out.

5. Ordering takeout so often that my GPS automatically routes to the restaurant on certain days.

4. Blankly forgetting one of my kids’ teachers’ names mid-sentence, not because I don’t know it, but because I’m overstimulated and trying (desperately) to be more present.

3. Rarely knowing what day it is. Monday? A home day? A late workday? Unclear. Maybe someday I’ll use my calendars effectively, but this wasn’t the year.

2. Telling my girls we’ll do something, go somewhere, or play something—and having zero memory of the conversation later.

And my number one Mom Moment of the year…

1. Crying in my car way more than I’d like to admit. Happy cries, sad cries, frustrated cries, and everything in between. This year was one of growth, aversion, acceptance, and immense gratitude.

Here’s to a new year with a better memory, fewer car cries, and a whole lot more love.

Do you care to share a relatable Mom Moment from this year? I’d love to hear your wins, your challenges, and anything in between!
