Choosing the right childcare or school for your child can feel like one of the biggest decisions we make as parents. From those first daycare drop-offs to preschool, elementary school, and even tutoring support along the way, every stage comes with new questions and many options. And let’s be honest, every child learns a little differently, which can make finding the right fit feel overwhelming.

As moms, we want to give our kids every opportunity to grow, learn, and thrive. Education is truly one of the greatest gifts we can give our children, but figuring out where to start (or what to choose next) isn’t always easy.

That’s exactly why we created our eighth annual Guide to Childcare and Education Resources in Fairfield County. This guide was designed with local families in mind to help you explore some of the area’s top daycares, preschools, private schools, and tutoring services all in one place.

Whether you’re researching your child’s very first classroom experience, considering a change in schools, or looking for extra academic support, this guide is here to help make the process a little less stressful and a lot more manageable.

We’re proud to bring this resource to the Fairfield County community each year, and we’re incredibly grateful to the local businesses and schools who partner with us to make it possible. Be sure to check them out and support the sponsors who help us continue providing helpful resources for local moms and families.

KING SCHOOL

KIng School

At King School, they don’t believe the smartest person in the room is the one with all the answers; it’s the one with all the questions. They welcome the curious ones who aren’t afraid to ask why, to try something new, to get it wrong before they get it right. They look for open minds and courageous thinking. They believe in the power of wonder. This begins with students becoming agents in their learning. When students are exploring, reflecting, questioning, evaluating, making connections — and teachers are creating and guiding these moments of discovery — students are truly learning. This is what is called inquiry-based learning and what King does at every grade level and in every discipline. Students develop a research mindset and apply that approach to all subjects. From discovering the world around them in pre-kindergarten to crafting complex and multidisciplinary senior projects, King students embrace learning through discovery, exploration, and hands-on experiences. Every aspect of the King experience prioritizes and optimizes engagement — from the wide variety of active, immersive learning experiences to intentional efforts to reach every student. True engagement at King is the entire community’s commitment to excellence in learning. They believe in the power of community that celebrates multiple backgrounds and perspectives. Students come from 40 different towns. They are a global community with more than 70 countries represented. There is no one type of student at King. Students have multiple interests and the school offers opportunities to explore them. They know that wondering minds go further. The world is rapidly changing; they might not know what the future will bring, but they know they’ll be ready to succeed and better prepared to better the world!
